Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
When submitting, authors must confirm that the manuscript meets all the items below. Submissions that do not comply will be returned to the authors.
- ✔The contribution is original and unpublished and is not under review by another journal.
- ✔The manuscript was prepared using the RASS template (Google Drive or Word) and is in Word format (.doc or .docx).
- ✔The text follows the Author Guidelines and the structure of the chosen section.
- ✔Title (up to 15 words), abstract (up to 200 words) and 3 to 5 keywords are provided in Portuguese and English; also in Spanish, if the text is in that language.
- ✔Citations follow the author-date system (ABNT NBR 10520) and references follow ABNT NBR 6023; all have been checked for accuracy and include a DOI or URL whenever available.
- ✔Tables, charts and figures are numbered, with title and source, in editable format and placed within the body of the text (not as images or appendices).
- ✔Author identification has been removed from the text, from self-citations (replaced by "Author, year") and from the Word file properties, to ensure double-blind review.
- ✔All authors have provided their ORCID and institutional affiliation in the submission metadata; authors affiliated with Brazilian institutions have also provided the link to their Lattes CV.
- ✔Permission has been obtained to publish images, data and other third-party materials included in the manuscript.
- ✔Any use of generative artificial intelligence tools is declared in the methodology, stating the tool and the purpose of its use; no AI tool is listed as an author.
- ✔The authors declare that the text is their own work, contains no plagiarism, and that all of them took part in the work sufficiently to take public responsibility for its content.
- ✔Any conflicts of interest and funding sources have been declared in the appropriate submission field (or their absence has been declared).
- ✔In co-authored papers, each author's contribution has been stated in "Comments for the editor", following the CRediT taxonomy.
Articles
Original scientific papers resulting from theoretical or empirical research that contribute to the debate on Social Security and Public Law.
Basic structure of the text
- Introduction, with the research problem, objective and rationale;
- theoretical framework;
- methodology;
- development, with results and discussion;
- final remarks;
- references.
When the text is predominantly theoretical, briefly describe the methodological paradigm that guided the work.
Mandatory elements
- Title of up to 15 words, in the original language and in English; if the text is in English, also in Portuguese.
- Abstract of up to 200 words, in Portuguese and English; if the text is in Spanish, in all three languages.
- 3 to 5 keywords, in the same languages as the abstract.

Essays
Reflective and argumentative texts that critically examine a topic, presenting a well-grounded authorial position.
Basic structure of the text
- Introduction, with the central question and the thesis defended;
- argumentative development, organized in sections;
- final remarks;
- references.
In the introduction, briefly describe the methodological paradigm that guided the reflection.

- Title of up to 15 words, in the original language and in English; if the text is in English, also in Portuguese.
- Abstract of up to 200 words, in Portuguese and English; if the text is in Spanish, in all three languages.

Research Communication
Reports of empirical research, completed or in progress, presenting the data, sources or cases analyzed.

Literature Review (systematic or integrative)
Reviews that map and critically synthesize the literature on a topic, using an explicit and reproducible method.
Basic structure of the text
- Introduction, with the review question and objective;
- review method: databases searched, search terms, time frame, inclusion and exclusion criteria and protocol adopted (e.g., PRISMA, for systematic reviews);
- results, with a synthesis of the selected studies (tables or flowchart, where appropriate);
- discussion;
- final remarks;
- references.

- Title of up to 15 words, in the original language and in English; if the text is in English, also in Portuguese.
- Abstract of up to 200 words, in Portuguese and English; if the text is in Spanish, in all three languages.

Traduções
The title of the article must contain a footnote stating the place and date of publication in the original language and the assignment of copyright.
The basic structure of the text should include:
a) Introduction, theoretical chapter, empirical chapter (research communications) and final considerations. When the text is predominantly theoretical or essayistic, the author should briefly describe the methodological paradigm that guided the work;
b) Title with a maximum of 15 words, in the original language and in English; if in English, the title in Portuguese;
c) Abstract in Portuguese and English; if the article is in Spanish, an abstract in all three languages.
d) The abstract must be no longer than 200 words;
e) 3 to 5 keywords.
A uniform structure and formatting standard is required in accordance with NBR 6.023 and NBR 10.520 of the ABNT.
The author-date system should be used for in-text citations.
Resenhas
The basic structure of the text should include:
a) Introduction, chapter on the parts of the work, critical chapter and final considerations;
b) A title of no more than 15 words, in the original language and in English; if in English, the title in Portuguese;
A uniform structure and formatting standard is required in accordance with NBR 6.023 and NBR 10.520 of the ABNT.
The author-date system should be used for in-text citations.
Entrevistas
The basic structure of the text should include:
a) biography of the interviewee;
b) context of the interview;
c) questions and answers.

Reflections
This section receives opinion papers and reflection essays without being submitted to peer review.
